Junior IT support analyst

Hybrid working with two/three days a week in our Edinburgh office, depending on ‘in-office’ support required that week.

About us
Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform, on a mission to help more people invest, and invest well.

We’re building the infrastructure behind the next generation of investing. Our technology already powers some of the UK’s most ambitious fintechs, banks, financial advisers and wealth firms, with close to a million investors relying on Seccl-powered platforms. And we’re now expanding into Europe.

We’ve got a proven product, strong momentum and big ambitions for what comes next: helping more household-name brands launch and scale investment propositions, entering new markets and replacing outdated investment infrastructure with technology that’s faster, simpler and built for scale.

We’re proud to be part of Octopus, one of the UK’s most successful privately held investment and technology groups. That gives us the backing and long-term perspective to build something substantial, while keeping the pace and energy of a high-growth business. Seccl and Octopus are both B Corp certified and share a belief that profit and purpose should go hand in hand.

If you want to help shape the future of investing in the UK and across Europe, you’ll be in good company.

The role
We’re looking for a Junior IT support analyst to join our TechOps team, reporting to the Senior IT support analyst. This role will help us deliver outstanding IT support to Seccl staff as we continue to scale.

Our TechOps team sits within Engineering and underpins Seccl’s modern workplace. It’s a fast moving, collaborative environment with plenty of variety, from supporting joiners, movers and leavers, to managing the Mac device lifecycle and SaaS admin. You’ll quickly build hands on experience with the latest tech.

What you’ll own

• Act as the first point of contact for internal IT queries, owning triage and providing first contact resolution where possible

• Meet first response SLAs and keep colleagues updated on ticket progress through clear, friendly communication

• Support the joiner / mover / leaver process, from equipment provisioning and account setup to access changes and deactivation, maintaining an accurate IT asset register

• Keep endpoints compliant with our security standards in a Mac first environment

• Use our ticketing tools (e.g., Jira Service Management) and suggest pragmatic improvements to workflows and automation

• Be a friendly face for TechOps, especially on busy office days - helping new starters settle in and resolving day-to-day issues quickly

This role’s for you if...

• You’re proficient with Mac and comfortable supporting colleagues in a Mac based environment (essential)

• You have a strong interest in technology, a problem solving mindset and clear, empathetic communication (essential)

• You’re organised, proactive, friendly and confident engaging with people across the business (essential)

• You’re happy to work 2–3 days a week from our Edinburgh office to support colleagues in person (essential)

• You’ve had exposure to Microsoft 365 - Azure AD, Entra, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive (desirable)

• You’ve used Jamf or other endpoint management (e.g., Intune) and understand the basics (desirable)

• You’ve used Jira Service Management or similar ticketing systems and/or the Atlassian suite (desirable)

This role isn’t for you if...

• You’re less comfortable in people-facing roles. As the first port of call for IT issues, and one of the first faces employees meet as they join Seccl, strong people skills are essential!

• You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet

• You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen

• You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty

What’s in it for you
We offer a generous mix of benefits designed around the things that matter to our people:

• 💰 £27,000 - £30,000 , reviewed annually, plus a 6% employer pension contribution and life assurance

• 🌴 27 days’ holiday plus bank holidays , your birthday off and paid dependant leave

• 💙 Two volunteering days each year

• 🌎 The option to work abroad for up to six weeks a year

• 🌟 Secclbrate , our recognition programme offering flexible rewards including extra pay, additional holiday and increased learning budget

• 🏅 One-month paid sabbatical after eight years

• 🏥 Private medical insurance with AXA Health

• 👪 Enhanced parental leave

• 💻 MacBook and up to £500 towards your home office set-up

• 📖 £750 annual learning budget

• 🌻 Health and wellbeing support , including free therapy through Wellness Cloud and mental health support through Headspace

Our culture
We put people first and try hard to create an environment where people feel trusted, heard and able to do their best work.

We value openness, curiosity and different perspectives. You’ll have the freedom to challenge how things are done, experiment with better ways of working and take real ownership of your impact.
