Project Manager

Frontline work keeps the world running. Restaurants, hospitals, schools, nurseries, airlines, stores, emergency services. Together they employ 80% of the global workforce, over 3 billion people, and they're among the hardest businesses anywhere to run. By-the-minute scheduling, HR and payroll make them far more operationally complex than the average office, yet just 1% of venture funding has ever gone to software built for them.
Rising costs, wage increases, labour shortages and tighter regulation have made fixing that urgent. Sona is the AI-native workforce management platform for frontline organisations, with agents that match staffing to real demand and take the admin load off managers. That's a $500bn+ market the software industry has mostly walked past.
We've raised over $100M from N47, Felicis, Gradient and Northzone, signed more than 100 enterprise customers across the UK and US, and opened offices in London, New York, Austin and Lisbon. More on working at Sona here .

About the Role

As a Project Manager at Sona, you'll own a portfolio of enterprise implementations end to end, working alongside a Solutions Architect on each project. Assignments are based on capacity and fit rather than a fixed team, so you'll work across sectors, hospitality, retail and social care.

You'll run implementations of Sona's products (HR, Scheduling, Payroll, LMS & ATS) end to end, ensuring delivery meets our scope commitments, budgets and timelines, all while providing an exceptional experience for our customers. You'll partner closely with senior stakeholders from our customers and internally across our Commercial, Product and Customer teams. We're a growing business, so you'll also need to thrive in a fast-evolving environment and be a strong advocate for clarity and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver projects on time, within scope and budget, maintaining the highest quality standards.

• Manage project risks, dependencies and scope, communicating mitigations and changes clearly to all stakeholders.

• Act as the primary customer advocate, building strong relationships and managing expectations throughout delivery.

• Coordinate internal teams, vendors and customers to ensure successful outcomes and efficient resource deployment.

• Produce clear, consistent documentation and status reports, escalating risks where required.

• Support our Land and Expand approach by driving strong customer partnerships and early value realisation.

• Continuously improve project processes and tools to enhance delivery speed, quality and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Proven success delivering enterprise software implementation projects on time, within budget and scope.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with C-level executives.

• Calm, organised and results-driven under pressure, with excellent time management.

• Confident in presenting, reporting and managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Comfortable using AI in your own workflow, notes, actions, tracking, and able to explain where you'd trust it and where you wouldn't.

• Bonus: experience with workforce management or HR software, prior use of Smartsheets, experience managing customers in a frontline or operationally complex industry.

Benefits

• Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum

• Hybrid working pattern (2+ days per week in our London office, plus customer travel across the UK)

• Share options
