Senior Level Designer

Homa is a global mobile game developer and publisher creating games people love. We partner with studios and internally develop games, having launched over 80 titles, reached over 2 billion downloads, and seen our game All in Hole break into the global top-50 grossing charts. These are milestones, not the finish line.
With deep expertise in product and technology, we built Homa Lab, our proprietary platform that gives developers the market intelligence, data tools, and game tech, with AI built-in, to find product–market fit fast and scale mass-market games into lasting experiences players enjoy for years.
This is our flywheel: Homa Lab helps studios spot the right ideas early, turn them into games quickly, and reach millions of players. Every launch brings back data and insights that fuel the next hit, making each turn of the loop faster, smarter, and more likely to win. AI supercharges this process, running through everything we do, from everyday tasks to our guiding principles.
What powers the loop is talent density. 220+ people from 30+ nationalities, bringing expertise from the world’s best studios and companies. We uphold ambition, curiosity, humility, and focus, and deliver with speed, excellence, and candor.
Since the start, we’ve raised $165M from Headline, Northzone, Eurazeo, Bpifrance, and the founders of King, Sorare, and Spotify, people who’ve built and backed the games and platforms we admire, now supporting our drive to create the next ones.
At Homa, we are building the next billion-player experiences from the ground up and shaping the future of entertainment.
The opportunity
You’ll be the keeper of the player experience on our hybrid casual RPG. Combat, heroes, art, and features all come together in the levels you build, and you decide whether that adds up to something players want to come back to.
You’ll join a small, AI-native game team on its way to launch. You’ll own the level design area completely: you set the roadmap, make the calls, and ship. A dedicated level editor and an AI-powered level generation pipeline will be ready on day one, so you spend your time on what matters: making every level fun.
What you’ll do

• Build. Design, build, and tune levels directly in Unity, covering layouts, encounters, pacing and difficulty.

• Scale. Triple our level content by combining our AI pipeline with your own design judgment.

• Balance. Model how health, damage, and stat changes affect the numbers before anything ships.

• Polish. Bring existing levels to final quality and give them the feel and juice that make players stay.

• Own. Set the level design roadmap, make design calls, and question whether each choice fits the game.

• Specify. Write clear, detailed specs that developers can implement as written.

• Learn from players. Use playtests and player data to see what works and iterate quickly.

• AI. Use AI every day to generate layouts, prototype encounters, simulate balancing, and automate level work.
Requirements

• Years of level design experience, with shipped levels on a hybrid casual, RPG or combat-based game.

• Hands-on balancing skills: you’re comfortable with stats, health and damage maths, and spreadsheets.

• Fluency in Unity: you build and iterate levels in the engine yourself.

• A strong sense of game feel: you know when a level is fun, and you can explain why.

• AI is already part of how you work every day. You've used it to automate, speed up, or rethink.

• The autonomy to build your own roadmap and make design decisions.

• A data-driven approach to level tuning.

• Feature design experience alongside level design.
For this role, you’ll also bring

• Extreme ownership. You drive outcomes. When something breaks, you fix it instead of explaining why it broke.

• Proactive. You don’t wait for instructions or perfect conditions. You spot what needs doing and do it.

• Pragmatism and simplicity. You look for the simplest solution that works, use whatever tools are available, and ship.

• Sharp thinking. You learn fast, reason from facts, and structure your ideas clearly.

• Hungry and motivated. You’re ambitious, high-energy, and grounded.
Even if you don’t check every box in our requirements, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and we’re more interested in your potential and passion than a perfect match to our checklist.
Why Homa

• Exceptional growth. We hire people of outstanding potential, then put them where they can grow fastest.

• Real ownership. You own the player experience of a game, and you’ll see your levels move the metrics.

• The right tools from day one. A dedicated level editor and an AI level pipeline, so you focus on design.

• A high talent bar. Our teams are small and ambiti us, and the people around you will push you to grow.

• AI at the core. You’ll have access to the best AI tools, and you’ll help shape how level design works in an AI-first company.
Benefits
At Homa , we prioritize talent, energy, and determination over traditional credentials. We’re building a global community of brilliant, driven people who think boldly, act with pragmatism, move fast, and push boundaries. We believe true innovation comes from diverse perspectives, deep collaboration, and curiosity without limits. Our culture is grounded in four core values:

• Humility: We recognise that we are always learning, we can always improve and grow.

• Curiosity: We continuously seek the “why” behind the “what” - we explore with purpose and practicality.

• Focus: Our curiosity takes us deeper, not wider - we obsess over the details and let pragmatism guide our attention.

• Ambition: We strive for the best - we don’t settle for “good enough,” - we use common sense to reach higher.
