About Ledger
We’re a team of experts pushing the limits of what’s possible, united by our common goal to unlock true freedom through digital ownership, making technology accessible for all. We believe in a world where users, creators and enterprises manage their value with ownership and freedom. Our curiosity drives us to innovate, empowering individuals on a global scale. We believe change is constant and our team moves forward as one, with a culture of problem-solving where every employee is empowered and supported to challenge tradition and create solutions. Our mission is simple: to make self-custody accessible and give people the keys to their own financial futures. If you want to make a true impact, we want you to join us at Ledger.
At Ledger, we’re proud to be the global platform for digital assets and Web3, with over 20% of the world’s crypto assets secured through our Ledger devices. With our headquarters in Paris, and offices in Vierzon, Grenoble, Montpellier, London, Portland, Geneva, Zurich and Central Singapore, we have a team of around 600 professionals developing a variety of products and services to enable individuals and companies to securely buy, store, swap, grow and manage crypto assets – including the Ledger hardware wallets line with more than 7.5 millions units already sold in 200 countries.
The Ledger Devices team is growing. We are taking secure hardware products for Web3 to the next level. Come be part of a very ambitious roadmap at the most respected brand in the industry. We are looking for a senior Mechanical Engineering Lead to help us drive the design of our next generations of products.
Reporting to the head of engineering, you will be responsible for all aspects of the Mechanical architecture.
What you will do:
• Lead the Mechanical design / architecture choices.
• Drive complex integrations of components and structure.
• Own the CAD and integrate all constraints from antenna, PCBA, connectors, …etc.
• Define and Validate reliability testing specifications.
• Drive molds and Tooling processes.
• Own exec relationships with key suppliers.
• Lead/build a team, teach best practices, and develop junior colleagues.
• Communicate with the extended hardware and firmware team members to ensure smooth program delivery.
• Drive DFM efforts, and Contract Manufacturer delivery of the chosen design.
• Lead the CMF definition of Ledger devices, at the intersection of product vision, industrial design requirements and manufacturing constraints.
• Prototype and debug devices in the lab, and perform device teardowns.
• Present clearly the technical choices and trade offs to the leadership team.
What we are looking for:
• 7+ years of experience in the consumer electronics industry, or in an industry where the skillset transfers well (e.g. Medical devices, Wearables, Telecom, IoT…etc.)
• Track record shipping devices to market successfully
• Experience in kicking off tools and processes at scale.
• Strong CAD skills in SolidWorks (preferred) or equivalent (e.g. Creo, Onshape), with a good grasp of GD&T.
• Proficient in tolerance analysis (arithmetic & statistical), and able to plan, conduct and review statistical process control (SPC) studies.
• A practical, hands-on engineer, comfortable troubleshooting directly in the lab and on the line. A natural leader that can develop and inspire others.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to deal with uncertainty and change.
• Curiosity about the crypto / blockchain industry a big plus
At Ledger, we are dedicated to continually investing in our employees which is why we offer more than just salaries; we provide comprehensive compensation packages that include a wide range of benefits. Here are some of the benefits you can look forward to:
