The team owns the infrastructure and services that power data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics at Netflix, and delivers high-quality, reliable, and trusted data to engineering teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
What you will do
• Design, build, and operate scalable, high-performance distributed systems for data ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics.
• Build and maintain services and pipelines that move large volumes of data reliably and efficiently across Netflix systems.
• Solve complex problems in data consistency, fault tolerance, scalability, and performance.
• Improve the reliability, observability, and operability of data platform services used across the company.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver data solutions that support critical business decisions.
• Contribute to the long-term architecture and technical direction of the data platform.
What we are looking for
• Strong experience designing and building distributed systems and data-intensive applications.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consistency, partitioning, replication, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with large-scale data processing and streaming technologies.
• Proficiency in Java or Scala, and experience with systems such as Apache Flink, Kafka, Spark, or Iceberg.
• Experience operating production systems at scale and debugging complex distributed systems issues.
• A track record of delivering high-quality, reliable software in a collaborative engineering environment.
Nice to have
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and containerized systems.
• Experience with data lakehouse architectures and open table formats.
• Experience improving performance and cost efficiency for large-scale data workloads.
Benefits
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits, including health plans, mental health support, a 401(k) retirement plan including employer match, stock options, and a flexible time off policy.
