Company Description
We’re Checkout.com . You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.
We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.
Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.
If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.
With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.
The Role
As part of Checkout.com ’s #NextGen Graduate Program you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and a comprehensive introduction to digital payments and technology. The program offers an extensive learning experience through technical training, professional development workshops, and direct access to industry experts. You'll be part of a global Early Careers, Graduate community, with regular networking events, mentoring opportunities, and social activities designed to build connections and accelerate your growth and leadership potential. By the end of the scheme, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to make a lasting impact at Checkout.com and beyond.
How you’ll make an impact
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performing systems using best practices in a microservices architecture.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code for some of Checkout’s most impactful platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, to solve real-world business challenges.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and share your knowledge across the engineering community.
• Operate and own the resilience and performance of the systems you develop.
• Mentor and support peers while growing your own technical expertise.
What we’re looking for
You’re a curious, motivated, and innovative future engineer, either due to graduate in summer 2027 or having graduated within the last 12 months, who is excited to dive into the world of digital payments and technology. Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or relevant work experience in these fields.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. .NET C#, Java, Python, or Go), with an understanding of core software engineering principles.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with or enthusiasm for working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code on tight deadlines.
• A passion for solving complex technical problems—independently and as part of a team.
• Payments or financial knowledge is a bonus, but not required.
Why Join Us?
• Work on impactful projects alongside industry experts, tackling some of the most exciting challenges in fintech.
• Grow your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where learning and development are a top priority.
• Join a diverse and supportive team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Be part of a company shaping the future of digital payments on a global scale.
