About Restate
Restate is an open source durable runtime for agents and backend services. We help developers build resilient applications by storing workflow state and automatically recovering from failures, without the complexity of managing infrastructure. Restate is used by teams building AI agents, microservices, and distributed systems, and our community is growing around the world.
About the role
We are looking for a Product Designer to join our remote-first team and help design the future of durable computing. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and the open source community to create intuitive, beautiful experiences for developers. This role is remote in Europe, and you will have the opportunity to own design across key parts of our product.
What you will do
• Own end-to-end design for core product experiences, from discovery to delivery.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define problems and ship high-quality solutions.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that communicate ideas clearly.
• Conduct user research with developers to validate designs and uncover opportunities.
• Contribute to and evolve our design system for consistency and scale.
• Help improve documentation and onboarding experiences for developers using Restate.
What we are looking for
• 3+ years of product design experience, ideally in developer tools or infrastructure products.
• A strong portfolio showing end-to-end design work and impact.
• Deep skills in interaction design, visual design, and prototyping.
• Experience with design systems and designing complex technical products.
• Strong collaboration skills and clear communication with cross-functional partners.
• A passion for open source and developer experience.
Why join Restate
• We are a remote-first company.
• Competitive salary and equity.
• Flexible work and paid time off.
• Opportunity to shape an open source product used by developers around the world.
Additional information
Location: Remote, Europe. Restate is a remote-first company and an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
