Google Photos

Best for: Android users and casual photographers prioritizing smart search capabilities

Pros:
+ AI-powered search allows queries like 'photos of dogs' or 'photos from Iceland in 2023'
+ Automatic facial recognition clustering by person
+ Automatic categorization by themes such as beaches, mountains, and birthdays
+ Generous free tier of 15GB shared across Google services

Cons:
- Photos are analyzed for AI training unless the user specifically opts out
- Users do not hold encryption keys, raising privacy concerns
- Unlimited 'high quality' free storage ended in 2025; all photos now count toward quota
