The Notifications Platform (also known as Foundation) Team builds the durable infrastructure and services that power Reddit's push, email, and in-app notifications. In this role, you will lead a team of software engineers responsible for building reliable, scalable platform capabilities used by notification experiences across Reddit. This is a high-impact team that enables product velocity, improves notification quality and reliability, and helps Reddit connect people to the communities and conversations they care about.

• Drive the full development lifecycle: design, develop, test, deploy, operate, and continuously improve highly available services.
• Establish strong practices for reliability, scalability, performance, privacy, security, and operational excellence across the platform.
• Build and maintain a diverse team that can collaborate across disciplines to find technical solutions to complex challenges.
• Serve as a thought partner to product and upper management to ensure your team’s plans align with company goals.
• Communicate your team’s work and set expectations with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Help your engineers identify career goals and create development plans to achieve them.

• Hands-on experience with highly available, low-latency services and operational excellence practices.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, data storage, streaming or messaging systems, and observability tooling.
• Experience setting technical direction for platform teams and balancing consistency, extensibility, and team autonomy.
• Entrepreneurial and self-directed, innovative, results-oriented, biased towards action in fast-paced environments.
• Able to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Able to tackle ambiguous and undefined problems.
