Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer
Scope automates the data collection that’s slowing down the physical world.
Standards are vital for the safety of our infrastructure. Spending hours manually documenting them is not.
Dave is an inspector. Today he’s climbing through one of Europe’s biggest chemical plants, looking for the corrosion that could shut the whole site down, with a notebook and pen in hand. Tomorrow, he’ll spend even longer on the part of the job he hates: turning those scribbles into a report.
We’re building the best AI-native data collection layer for the 2 billion field workers like Dave. Scope radically simplifies how inspectors collect data in the field, make decisions, and produce reports. Along the way, we’re building the world’s largest dataset on the condition of the built world and the decisions experts make about it.
It’s a $2T market and we’re just getting started, with ambitions. We have grown revenue 5x in the last year and on track to reach 10M ARR in 2026 . We work with 6 of the top 10 companies in the space. Our customers inspect facilities and products for companies including AstraZeneca and SpaceX .
We’ve assembled a best-in-class team: acquired and future founders, people from institutions like Imperial, Carnegie Mellon and Oxford, and from firms like Goldman Sachs, Flexport and Amazon.
Since launching from Entrepreneurs First in 2024, we've raised an oversubscribed $20m round led by Index Ventures , the firm behind Figma, Revolut and Wiz, with over 100 unicorns backed to date.

About the role:
You’ll join a talented, flat structured engineering team where we are looking for forward deployed or product focused engineers where you will be at the front line of our key accounts. You will be running the rollout, building tools tailored for the client and own problems end to end .
You will not be siloed so will work across the product, business, clients and won’t be handed tickets and asked to stay in your lane. You’ll talk to users, decide what matters, design the solution, ship it, and see whether it worked.
We work in person five days a week from our sunny office in Farringdon. We believe being together helps us move faster and solve problems more effectively and it's also more fun!
We’re looking for people who want to help invent what inspection software should look like in a post AI world .

What you’ll do:

• Build the systems that takes voice notes, photos, videos and proactively finishes reports

• Engineer how we feed context to AI models: how to store, fetch and select standards, reports, media, user intention

• Evolve our workflow builder into self evolving software

• Design the architecture behind the product: how unstructured data flows through the system, how AI is integrated, how offline and online behaviour stay seamless, and how we keep the product simple as it becomes more powerful.

Who you are:

• We believe great teams are made up of highly agentic managers of one. People who care more about shipping results than collecting badges.

• You should apply if you’re deeply technical and enjoy building applications

• You have strong technical skills, ideally mobile applications or client focused.

• You have 5+ years of experience and have built up enough scar tissue to know which technical decisions matter.

• Expo / React Native experience a big plus

Interview process:
* An initial call.
* A collaborative technical exercise with an engineer.
* An Interview with a cofounder - Jonny (CEO) or Jakob (CTO).
* Onsite Systems Design and Product Interview - Meeting more people on the team and getting a feel of what it would be like to work here.
* Offer!

What we offer:
Our benefits are designed to reflect our values. We offer comprehensive employee benefits, which includes the following:

• £120k - £150k base + significant equity so you have a stake in what you are building

• We provide full visa sponsorship that has allowed us to have unrestricted access to global talent and build an international, diverse team

• Tools to do your job including brand new MacBook laptop + Scope merch

• Generous above-market annual leave allowance

• Bupa private medical (0 excess, pre-existing conditions covered) + Bupa dental

• Employee Pension through NEST

• Flexible Parental Leave (including Adoption Leave)

• Healthy meal prep delivered Lunch + Dinners as well as fully stocked fridge and snacks, drinks

• Team lunches on Fridays

• Regular events including off-sites

• Learning and Development: Access to online resources and courses as well as internal Lunch and Learn seminars that allow collaboration and continuous development

At Scope, we believe diverse perspectives build stronger products and teams. Even if your background doesn't perfectly align with every single bullet point here, if you have the drive and the commercial instincts to excel in this role and be a part of a transformational start up, we strongly encourage you to apply.
